Introduction

The simulator is composed of simulative casing, simulative oil tube, simulative screen pipe, coupon, air supply system of CO₂, buffer container, circulating pump and heat unit.

The simulator can measure the corrosion speed by weight loss method and observe corrosion form with a metallographic microscope. Through the experiment, we can establish a method to evaluate the casing corrosion under various temperature, pressures of CO₂ and flow rate, and the relation between casing corrosion and formation water and formation temperature.

Application

1. can evaluate the effect of formation water on casing corrosion under formation temperature;
2. can evaluate the effect of formation water on casing corrosion under various pressures of CO₂;
3. can evaluate the effect of formation water on casing corrosion under various temperature(40℃、60℃ and 80℃) and pressures of CO₂;
4. can evaluate the effect of flow pattern on casing corrosion by changing
